Talk about venue décor at a wedding and you just cannot miss wedding flower balls. Wedding flowers balls are a beautiful and simple way to enhance the décor of your wedding. Here is how you can make your own wedding flower balls.
Step 1
Firstly, you need to have all the flowers in place to make a flower ball. If you are using artificial flowers, then carefully dissect the flowers from the plastic stem. However, if you are using real flowers you will not have to do this. Now group the flowers on the basis of size or color. This makes it easier for you to arrange the flowers in the later steps.
Step 2
Next you need to have the ribbon in place that will be used to hang these flower balls. Though you can use any ribbon, the ones that are wider work the best. Also ensure that the color of the ribbon matches with the color of the flowers. Have pieces of cut this ribbon cut already. When cutting ribbon pieces ensure that you cut enough length so that the flower balls can hang easily and also the ribbon is sufficient to go around the flower ball.
Step 3
In the next step you need to attach the ribbon to the ball. Since this is slightly complicated, you need to be a little careful. Place the previously cut ribbon carefully on the ball so that the ends of the ribbon overlap each other. Now stick on the overlapping portion of the ribbon to the ball with the help of a pin. Now turn over the ball so that the pinned portion is at the bottom. Now pull the ribbon from both the upper as well as lower end of the ball. Hold the ribbon tight and pin the ribbon on both sides so that it does not move. Now tie a lose not at the upper end of the ball (not the end that is pinned). Pull this knot tight and you have a hanging ball.
Step 4
Now start placing the flowers on the ball. Insert a pin through the center of the flower and then through the ball. This way you can keep on pinning up the flowers in the ball. For your convenience, it is advised that you use bigger flowers first and start with the center.
Step 5
After the ball is filled with flowers, check for any blank spaces. You can use greenery or any kind of foliage to fill up this space.
Step 6
You can add your own personal touch to these flower balls by using any kind of embellishment. You can mix and match different colored flowers or use flowers of a single color to make flower balls.
